Happy new marriage to all, and to all a good night…

Three years ago tomorrow my sweetie and I were married. Yes, New Year’s Eve…it was essentially an elopement only we had already moved cross-country from our families so we just ditched our big-wedding plans for the following summer and tied the knot. No one knew until after the fact except our witnesses and minister. It was perfect for us in every way. We were ready to be married. I am so glad that we did it the way we did, rather than getting caught up in spending and who sits next to who at dinner. Our dinner was just us at a local Greek Restaurant, it was delicious.

So much has happened since then…namely jobs, moving, finding a tribe of lovely people to enrich our life and support us and…we became parents. And it’s been very hard and we’ve scrimped a lot. Our “honeymoon” was staying in our wee appartment watching movies…the following year we went snowshoeing in a nearby town but in general we’ve hunkered down and WORKED our bums off here. It’s time to celebrate…

So, we’re getting married. Again. Probably followed by a *real* honeymoon (with a toddler but it’ll be fun!) It’s time for a fresh start for our family and a “refresher” for our marriage. I’m excited to pick my dress (or make it!?) and flowers and all that jazz…chances are if you’re reading, you may have an invite. I’ll be sure to update as plans develop.

To the new year, and celebration, and joy. and happy 18th birthday to my dear middle sister. 🙂
